This artisanal distillery founded in 2017 by a young, passionate and self-taught Corsican couple, produces the 1st Corsican London dry gin “U Massicciu” as well as the 1st Distilled Gin Alma.
“Our Corsica London dry gin U Massicciu is the art of a mastered distillation, the alcohol vapours taking over the essential of the botanical basket which is composed of juniper berries, wild myrtle leaf, lemon zest, coriander berries and rosumarinu, in order to keep only the heart of the distillation.
Laetitia and Anthony have chosen to elaborate a Gin Tonic, the G&T “U Massicciu Népita-Choco”. It is a summer season cocktail, greedy and surprising with the pronounced wild flavours of Corsica. The power of the Nepita combines perfectly with the botanical basket of the Corsica London dry Gin. It is also aphrodisiac, the sweetness of the dark chocolate chips, the ardour of the ginger, as well as the pep of the pomelo as a final touch, will form the alliance and the balance of this cocktail “U Massicciu Nepita-Choco”, ideal to refresh your summer “aperitifs”.
For each cocktail “U Massicciu” proposes a cigar agreement, this one will be perfectly accompanied by a cigar originating from Nicaragua, the Pilon bled Churchild.
It is a great module that will accentuate the freshness and the peppery side of the myrtle present in the gin U Massicciu, and the nepita.
- 5 cl of U Massicciu Gin
- 8 cl of Tonic Classic
- 2 cl of Ginger Beer (it is optional to add 2 cl of Tonic Classic according to taste)
- 1 slice of Pomelo
- 1 Sprig of Nepita
- A few shavings of dark chocolate plus 70% Cacao.
The Distillery U Massicciu recently produced the first traditional Corsican rum, the “Tia” rums. The range, currently being aged, will be composed for the most part of Amber Rum, VO, VSOP and Old Rum. The Tia Brun Traditionnel distillation n°02 of the year 2020 is already available for tasting, but beware, there are only 2334 bottles!
