In a world that is always going faster, it’s important to take one’s time. Time to walk, contemplate, listen, feel, experience…

Madonetta / Strada Vecia.

A route for strong walkers.
The famous town of Bonifacio imposes a stunning silhouette overlooking the sea. The winds have furrowed the strata without succeeding in taming the deep soul of this citadel, besieged by azure. This hike offers another, more original perspective, on the Mediterranean’s most beautiful fjord. The path, like a tightrope, meets the edge where the plateau falls away near the cave named ‘Sdragunatu’ (the dragon). Close by, the Madonetta lighthouse oversees the entrance to this natural port.
Park at the town’s car park and ascend the national road northward.
After a few metres, take the turnoff to the left marked by a blue and white sign reading ‘sentier des plages’, then follow the yellow ‘Cala di Paraguan’ sign. At the first stone and metal marker follow Paragan then at the second follow Madonetta-Fazio. You will find yourself once again at the first marker, then head back towards Bonifacio.
