The Centre Pompidou Collections in Corsica for the first time

DE RENAVA is a Corsican endowment fund dedicated to contemporary creation and new media.

Every even-numbered year, DE RENAVA organises an international biennial event in Bonifacio. The first edition took place in 2022.

During the ‘off’ years of the biennial, in odd-numbered years, De Renava offers exclusive collaborations with major cultural institutions in the Mediterranean region.

The aim of these projects is always to make major works of contemporary art accessible in rural

art in rural areas and to highlight the links between neighbouring countries in the region.

For 2023, De Renava OFF is honoured to be collaborating with the Centre Pompidou, which has one of the finest collections of modern and contemporary art in the world.

De Renava OFF offers a plunge into the Mediterranean DNA of the Centre Pompidou’s collection. Called “La Notte”, the exhibition will feature 13 works by artists from the basin or inspired by its artistic landscape.

La Notte – named after Michelangelo Antonioni’s famous film – is, like the film itself, a stroll through a Mediterranean nightlife lined with encounters

offering a nebulous, diffracted, dreamlike and non-exhaustive vision of a certain Mediterranean imaginary. The exhibition explores the motifs that represent it that extend beyond its geographical boundaries, conveying a Mediterranean essence with a universal radiance.

ARTISTS

The exhibition will feature works by Mona Hatoum, Kader Attia, Ange Leccia, Pipilotti Rist, Leandro Erlich, Mohamed Bourouissa, Marwan Rechmaoui, Jean Genet, Cerith Win Evans, Kenneth Anger, Neïl Beloufa, Luc Zangrie and Zoulikha Bouadbellah.

EVENTS

In addition to the vernissage evenings, the event will be punctuated by private and public evenings, with a variety of programmes and public evenings, with a varied programme of screenings, live performances, concerts and DJ sets.
