Gioia, the taste of fruit… and fulfilment

Some projects take root long before they come to fruition. Dreams sown forty years ago, among rows of clementine trees swaying in the sea breeze of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Gioia is the ripe fruit of long patience, that of island farming, determined to transform its fruit, true treasures, into the emblem of a Corsica that is moving forward.

It all began in San Nicolao, in the heart of the eastern plain. There, Corsican producers, united within the GIE Corsica Comptoir, decided to take their destiny into their own hands. Proud of their terroir and in love with their land, they built a simple and virtuous model: eliminate intermediaries, better promote their products and, finally, process their fruit themselves.

In 2023, the first 100% Corsican citrus fruit processing plant will open. This is a momentous occasion, celebrated in style, just like the clementine itself: with warm exchanges, sincere smiles and faith in a future rooted in authenticity.

From this place, Gioia was born – joy in Corsican, of course, but also the pride of a pure, uncompromising local juice. Here, there is no artifice. The fruit is Corsican, the expertise is Corsican, both modern and ancestral, and the determination is unwavering. Clementine, pomelo, orange or lemon: every drop is concentrated sunshine, character and generosity from the island.

More than just a juice, Gioia is a manifesto. It stands for demanding, community-based agriculture and a commitment to respecting the land, the product and the consumer. It is also an eco-responsible approach: making the most of ungraded fruit, reducing food waste and processing as close as possible to the orchards to limit the carbon footprint.

And tomorrow? The adventure is just beginning. Soon, there will be a bottling line on the island, new fruits are being studied, and perhaps even jams or oils. But always with the same requirement: to remain faithful to the soul of Gioia.

Because Gioia is not just a drink. It is the voice of an island and its terroir. It is a story of passion, solidarity and taste.

Quite simply, it is a Corsican story.
