By the sea, in the Gulf of Porto-Vecchio, the Casadelmar hotel reopens, after extensive renovation work, and adorned with new refinement by Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Bodin, the architect originally responsible for the hotel.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\nMore than ever turned towards the sea, Casadelmar puts itself in the spotlight and incorporates its element from the moment guests set foot on the premises. Entirely remodeled, the lobby has been cleared, and the grand staircase removed to make room for the view. The reception desk sets the tone in leather, stone and wood. While the hotel retains its succession of simple and spacious volumes, its setting has been softened. It is no longer a universe in which the walls come alive in the light and shadows created by the path of the sun. Rather, a new world has been created, using natural materials and shades of colors to bring a sense of serenity. The large space that extends beyond the entrance as well as the lobby has been complemented with a mezzanine that overlooks the bar. Leaning on the dark wood railing, one can take the time to gaze upon the Gulf of Porto-Vecchio and the endless comings and goings of sailboats. The sea also finds an echo in the furniture, like this bronze coffee table designed by Jean Grisoni, whose patterns evoke a gentle lapping of the sea.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

On the left, the new staircase slowly unveils its elegant curve up to the bar.<\/h5>\n

Light oak and wenge echo nature, as well as the lobby and the restaurant, which the staircase softly connects. Behind the bar, notice a delicate arabesque built against an elliptic bench seat, forming a more intimate space, adorned with antique anchors from the Ganges.<\/p>\n

Wainscoting is also present in the latter and contributes to a more muted atmosphere. The soft and intermittent lighting underlines the quietness that reigns, with two alcoves designed to welcome more confidential dinners. The d\u00e9cor has been totally overhauled to offer a suitable setting for the unforgettable gastronomic cruises over the Mediterranean prepared by two-time Michelin-starred chef Fabio Bragagnolo, from Casadelmar.<\/p>\n

A new olfactive signature.<\/h5>\n

Corsican perfumer Marc-Antoine Corticchiato, who created Parfum d\u2019Empire, gives Casadelmar a fragrance in osmosis with both Jean Mus\u2019 garden plans and Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Bodin\u2019s minimalist architecture. This, and the Corsican maquis, alluded to in a duel in the sun between these two figureheads: the sap of the mastic and the warm and spicy breeze of the Italian strawflower.<\/p>\n
